Doctors at war over euthanasia claims

There was a time, when if we saw someone standing on the edge of the bridge we would show compassion and do all we could to talk them out of it. Now we show compassion and push them off!

The New Zealand Medical Association upholds the doctors pledge, “maintain the utmost respect for human life”, and “that the health and well being of our patients will be our first consideration”.

Baddock told Newsroom the association took an evidence-based position, supported by ethical principles, after consultation with members. The association carried out a survey of its 5000 to 6000 members – including medical students – and found members overwhelming supported the association’s position.

A small group of doctors disagree with the Medical Association. Let’s keep praying the Euthanasia Bill does not pass.
