Praise God the Australian government is waking up. Sweden, South Dakota, Taiwan, South Korea and others did not lockdown, did not close businesses nor suffer the secondary effects of lockdown. Sadly few Governments have the courage and leadership to do the same.
Death rates for covid-19 have plummeted before vaccines became common yet six months later, governments have still not changed their strategy. Death rates for variants remain low despite most hospitalizations being fully vaccinated. see picture above

FoxNews: Australia is set to end its “covid zero” policy after Prime Minister Scott Morrison determined that the country’s approach is not “sustainable” in the face of the more infectious COVID-19 delta variant.
Australia has maintained a strict policy of restrictions and lockdowns to stamp out any outbreak, but the government over the weekend laid out a new plan that marks a sharp change in policy.
